Report on the Cabaret and Disco…

October 18th Thank   you   so   much   to   all   the   talented   people   that   took   part   in   the   cabaret,   what   a   fantastic      evening,   with   a great variety of items including song and dance and instrumentals. Thank   you   to   all   the   MC’s   who   did   a   great   job   with   the   introductions   and   to   Philip   Boreham   on   the   sound   and Tom Bennett for the filming. Thank   you   to   everyone   who   supported   this   event,   an   amazing   £1,031   was   raised   for   the      Alzheimer’s   Society, what a great result to a truly wonderful evening. I   would   also   like   to   say   a   big   thank   you   to   our   senior   girls   from   the   Performers   Group   who      took   part   in   the Abba dance and also helped serve the food, these young women are a credit to both us as a group and also to their families. Special thanks to Julie Lye for the Disco, Julie can be booked on 01929 472069 Special   thanks   also   goes   to   Teresa   Jones   who   supplied   the   chair   covers   free   of   charge,   Teresa   is      setting   up   her own   business   and   we   show-cased   her   chair   dressing   at   the   cabaret,   to   consult   Teresa   on   all   your   party requirement telephone 01929 472365.

Let The Memory Live Again…

October 8th Macmillan   Biggest   Coffee   Morning   Report   on   the   Cabaret   and   Disco   15th   October   2011   “Let   the   Memory   Live Again”   Although   this   is   not   essentially   a   Pop   In   Place   project   it   does   involve   some   of   the      group   members   so we thought you would be interested to read about it . Today   Pastor   Jim,   Julie,   Jade,   Charlotte   and   I   went   to   a   recording   studio   in   Bournemouth   and   recorded   ”   Let   the Memory Live Again ” to be sold at £5 per copy in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society. We   sincerely   hope   you   will   very   much   enjoy   listening   to   the   six   inspirational   tracks   that   we   have   put   our   heart and soul into recording. The   CD’s   will   be   available   shortly   and   every   penny   of   the   of   purchase   price   will   go   to   the   charity   as   we   have had sponsorship for the outlay costs. Many   thanks   to   Philip   Boreham   who   has   designed   the   CD   cover   with   some   stunning   local   images   and   to   Paul Bennett for his help with copying. The   CD’s   make   a   very   special   Christmas   gift   and   while   giving   you   are   also   supporting   a   very   worthy   cause.   ”   Let the   Memory   Live   Again   ”   Please   buy   a   CD   and   support   The   Alzheimer’s   Society   who   are   leading   the   fight against dementia. I   am   pleased   to   inform   you   that   in   early   November   I   sent   a   cheque   for   £500   of   CD   sales   to   the   Alzheimer’s Society, CD’s are still on sale and this will be an ongoing venture for the rest of 2011. A big thank you to everyone who has purchased them. Update   we   are   pleased   to   announce   that   the   CD   has   raised   so   far   £860   for   the   Pamela   Hoare   Tribute   Fund and is still available from Alison on request , many thanks to everyone who contributed.
